It's All in the Technique
04.23.07 (3:57 am)   [edit]
When you are throwing together your favorite mixed drink, whether it is for a party or for yourself, the technique you use will make a big difference in how the drink comes out. The way you prepare your drink recipes has a large effect on their taste, and most home tenders have the tendency to just toss the ingredients together and serve. The glass you use is key to how the mixed drink turns out. Many drink recipes call for either a chilled or frosted glass, and there is a fundamental difference between the two. A chilled glass can be accomplished by simply putting the glass in the fridge or freezer for a couple of hours before use. For the quickie fix, fill the glass with some crushed ice and always empty it out before adding your drink recipe. The frosted glass needs to have the white frosted look to it and this can be done simply through some freezer time or burying the glass in crushed ice for a few hours. Once you have perfected the look of your glass that the drink recipe requires you can go ahead with your cocktail or drink recipe and enjoy it as it is meant to be.
